06/10/2002 (Real Time) - 07/01/2003 (Game Time) The game started as Second Lieutenant Sanchez and Ensign's Jeb and Thompson were heading for the Quantum Leap military compound. They made small talk as the bus made its way through security checkpoints until it finally arrived at the base. The surrounding were simple with a few buildings and two large aircraft hangers. But that was a illusion as F-15 fighter aircraft flew overhead patroling the skies and several Hummer jeeps circled patroling the fence. As the team disembarked the bus, a loud security alert siren started wailing throughout the compound. Confusion set in as the team didnt know what was happening! They watched as a jeep sped by leaving the compound gates. It then proceeded west along the base fence and shot at a man who popped up out of the bushes with a camera, killing him. It was later found out the man was a reporter from the local newspaper spying on the base for the newspaper. It was explained to the team that there are signs up throughout the desert that any civilian found within the perimeter would be shot and killed. After the shooting incident the team met with General West who introduced himself and instructed the team to head for the barracks and relax until the rest of the recruits arrived the next day. |
